Poor Jonathan was always a nervous child that frustrated his parents. At last a area of calm was born into his life and now the calm of Solomon is having a birthday. Dave has written a 3 book fantasy series called “The Demon Curse” that discusses life in the underworld including this family who might connect to the underworld in the future.

Chapter 5 Solomon Part 22

Jonathan looked at the clock in the kitchen. It was almost time for the party to begin. He rose from the table, opened the back door and walked out into the backyard. The sun was bright and warm. It was early summer, and the smell of fresh cut grass hung in the air. He could hear a bee buzzing in the shrubs that surrounded the pool area.

Looking in that direction, he saw his younger brother Solomon standing with his friends, quietly talking on the grass. Jonathan always felt better when his brother was around.

The Beginning of Solomon

When Jonathan was four years old his parents decided it was time to look at their plan and see if they couldn’t get it back on track. Though their first son had not turned out to be the perfect extension of their perfect lives, as he was easily upset and cried at the slightest provocation, they said, “Perhaps if we have a second child, he or she will be the embodiment of intelligence and vigor. Surely, two exceptional people such as ourselves can create a child that will charm the world, that will win friends and accomplish great things. And perhaps if there were such a child, he or she might strengthen our older son and lead him to become a more uh...functioning adult.”

Solomon glanced up when he felt Jonathan looking at him. His bright blue eyes under a shock of curly blond hair were striking. Jonathan held his gaze and Solomon nodded to him approvingly.

Jonathan walked to the patio table that had been decorated by the nanny. She was a different girl than the one from his childhood. In fact, she was the third young woman his parents had hired. This nanny's name was Courtney and she liked to decorate. There was a red tablecloth with paper plates and plastic cups, each in a different party colors. He took a seat on one of the chairs near the table and continued watching his younger brother quietly explaining something, while his four friends listened intently.
