Robert Irwin, Steve Irwin's son, had a surprise visitor in his room in Africa. You can watch it here.

So, I was wondering about animal intrusions in Utah. I talked to my brother Ben who is an avid camper/hiker and he shared this story.

Chef on one of his camping trips determined that he was a big eater, such a big eater that he made Ben more food than he could possibly eat. At one setting chef gave him so much food that by the time he was done a much-anticipated dessert of cobbler was mostly eaten.

Ben said he is usually pretty good at not leaving food out at a camp spot, which he says is the key to avoid animal visits, but on this same outing chef was cooking breakfast. He had mixed up too much pancake batter and determined to cook them all and just shuffle the task of eating off on to Ben.

In part due to the cobbler incident Ben had had enough, enough of the pancakes and enough of being force fed. So every time chef would place another cake on his plate, Ben would flip it into a bunch of bushes behind chef's back. This continued until chef ran out of batter and no one was the wiser.

They spent the day hiking and exploring and came back to that same spot for the night. Overnight the camp was swarmed with skunks. There were skunks everywhere and no one could figure out why. Ben said no one got sprayed probably because the skunks were too busy enjoying a pancake feast that no one but Ben and the skunks knew was there.
