How To Make AI Music While Sitting At Home In Utah

There are all sorts of stories on the dangers presented by artificial intelligence. So far, I haven’t seen those dangers emerge, but I certainly don’t discount them either. I have played around with ChatGPT and it’s pretty amazing. I have also enjoyed some of the AI created songs produced by people that make me laugh.  

I really enjoy Plankton singing “Sounds of Silence.” And the Zombies from Call of Duty singing “I’m A Barbie Girl.” There are many others that take a favorite character voice and sing some Michael Jackson or other favorite song. 

I looked into how I could create my own covers sitting at home here in Southern Utah, but it’s beyond my abilities as it requires some coding. The most popular open software to use is Soft VC VITS Singing Voice Conversion. It is reasonably easy to use once you have it installed. There are some good tutorials on YouTube like this one that can walk you through the process. 

I don’t have any big plans to create AI songs, except maybe to have Bluey sing birthday wishes to my grandkids. I would also like a copy of Ozzy Osbourne singing “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”. So, if you are good at AI, maybe you could help me with those. 

What song would you have someone famous sing? I’ve written a couple of songs that are fairly simple. I would love to have an AI Taylor Swift sing one, or maybe an AC/DC version. I’m sure it won’t be long until there is a website that I can plug the song in, select the artist, and let it rip. So far, artificial intelligence seems like it could be a lot of fun.
