Try Grilled Cheese Hotdogs In Utah For A Meal That Celebrates America 250
Celebrating America should always come with some grilled meat. Any meat will probably work weather you choose steak, chicken, or how about a grilled cheese hotdog? This recipe makes me want to start marching around with a drum.
Celebrate America With Some B eef and Cheese
All you need is some shredded cheese, hotdogs, and buns. When it comes to the dogs I would recommend all beef. Quality makes a big difference and it is hard to beat the monsters they sell at Costco, but do what you like.
Scoring the hot dog can make a difference in the texture and how much of the surface cooks. Generally a diagonal pattern works or if you want to get fancy, put it on a skewer and slice it with a knife in a spiral.
Combine a Grilled Cheese With a Hot Dog
Now stuff the bun with cheese, then the hotdog, any extras like jalapeños or pickles, and more cheese. Now heat up a flat plate on your grill or use a frying pan to medium heat. Take each hotdog and turn it upside down on the grilling surface and let it cook.
When the cheese and bun have turned to a nice looking dark brown crispiness, it is time to pull it off. Now mix up a tasty sauce of your choosing. For me, I like a nacho cheese or even a chili cheese sauce.

Just describing this delicious recipe makes me want to start playing Lee Greenwood with a sing along from Neil Diamond. Remember if you add the chili cheese sauce to skip the beans unless you are interested in some fireworks later.
