Where to Go in Utah With National Park Entrance Fees Waived July 4th Weekend For America’s 250th

The National Parks in Utah are always busy during the summer, but July 3rd through the 5th will be even more so. For the Celebration of America 250 the entrance fee to the parks will be waved.

It was planned to encourage citizens to get out and enjoy some of the natural beauty preserved in the many National Parks and historic sites like battlefields and memorials. This will make a busy weekend even busier in Utah.

For those who have been to the more popular parks in our state, it might be a chance to visit the ones you haven't been to. Here's three options to see this weekend that you can explore without paying an entrance fee.

Great Basin National Park

This park is just across the border in Nevada and features mountain lakes and bristlecone pines. It is also the home of Lehman cave with towering stalactites and stalagmites rising to meet in the darkness.

Capital Reef National Park

Located in Wayne County in the middle of Utah, this park has natural arches, red rock canyons, and big horn sheep wandering the cliffs. Find out about the geology of the area including the 100 mile wrinkle in the earth.

Canyonlands National Park

There are hundred of hiking trails to explore with some back country you can get lost in a good way. There are also native ruins to learn about and distinct desert wildlife. There are four distinct areas to explore in this park.
