Hawaiian Hay Stacks 

This simple recipe became popular in the 80s. It combines Cream of Chicken soup with shredded rotisserie chicken to make a gravy that goes over rice. Add chow mien noodles and add toppings like chopped onions, pineapple, tomato and black olives. 

Shepherd's Pie

This dish was great for feeding a family of kids where you could hide some of the leftovers. Kind of like a casserole, it has a top of mashed potatoes, ground beef, and whatever leftover vegetables are lying around in the fridge.

Homemade Bread

There was nothing better than fresh homemade bread from the oven when you were a kid. It was usually denser than the Wonder Bread junk and you would cut a slice an inch thick and slather it with butter and honey.
