A unique addition to the St. George food world has opened up and it is a place worth trying. It's Roni's Mac Bar and it takes mac & cheese to a new level. You'll find it in the row of stores just outside Red Cliffs across the parking lot from Barnes & Noble.

The Choice Is Yours at this Mac & Cheese Hang Out

Who would have thought there are so many good tastes you can add to your basic noodles smothered in cheese. At Roni's you can select what you want from a digital display. Start with some cheese, I chose gouda. Add proteins like chicken, brisket, bacon and ham.

There's different sauces to add like BBQ, ranch and parmesan. You can choose broccoli, mushrooms, even pineapple. The possible combinations are almost limitless. There's also grilled cheese with the mac packed inside.

Atmosphere at Roni's is Fun and Helpful

As you wait for your order, there is a big screen to show you where you are in the process. I liked knowing where my order was at. There are also games to play at your table while you wait.

Even though the place was busy when I went for lunch, my order took less than 10 minutes. The mac & cheese comes in a tin foil bowl that makes it easy to take with if you can't finish it. There was plenty, so I did.

It was creamy and delicious. I really don't have anything I didn't like about eating at Roni's. It cost just under $14 with a drink and I took half of it home. I think it is a good addition to my food choices in Southern Utah.
