If you have never been to Anasazi Steakhouse on Sunset Blvd in St. George or it has been a while, you should pay them a visit. It has everything you like in a place that serves steak, and the atmosphere is quiet and refined.

They have some unique offerings like their fondue where you can dip all sorts of food items in melted cheese that gets heated in the middle of the table. And of course, they have all the delicious sides and entrees you expect.

What I like is the cooking stone where you can fine tune your steak. This is a square stone that sits in front of you on the table. You can then slice your cut of meat and heat each piece to the perfect doneness.

The other benefit is that it never gets cold. Each piece sizzles on the cooking stone and when you put it to your mouth, it is hot and tender. I recommend the filet for this, but any steak will work.

If you don’t want to use the stone, you certainly don’t have to. You can have it cooked in the kitchen and brought to you in the traditional way. For me, I really like the cooking stone. Maybe it is the inner caveman in me.
