Soup That Divides Families is Served in Southern Utah Locations

A cold day can make you feel like a hot bowl of soup. However, if you are cooking up some for your family or you stop by one of the great places in Southern Utah to get a steaming bowl, you may want to stay away from the most divisive American soup.

Simple Soup Can Cause Family Drama

There are many soups that can be controversial to cook for the family. Some people like beans, but others don’t enjoy the aftereffects. Split pea soup is not going to go over well with anyone under the age of 60.

Taste Atlas has a list of the worst rated American soups. Number one on the list is a Wisconsin cheddar beer soup that doesn’t look too bad except for the popcorn they have floating on the top. That is going to taste soggy and gross.

Clam Chowder: A Love-It or Hate-It Soup

The soup that makes the list twice with two different versions is clam chowder. This is the most controversial soup. Some people really love it; others won’t be able to eat after catching a whiff of it in the kitchen.

Unless your family is a big fan of seafood or just moved from Massachusetts, you should probably only get this with other clam fans. Rusty Crab Daddy, Village Baker, and the Cliffside Restaurant all offer tasty versions of clam chowder.

Otherwise, you might want to stay with something everyone can appreciate like cheesy potato soup. Even better if you throw some cheese and bacon bits on top.
