Two prophecies are being studied with the death of Pope Francis. One is from Nostradamus and the other from the Vatican archives made by Saint-Archbishop Malachy 900 years ago.

Through the Death of a Very Old Pontiff

The Nostradamus prediction includes two separate prophecies. The first talks about a Pope that lives to an old age followed by a Roman:

Through the death of a very old pontiff...a Roman of good age will be elected. Of him, it will be said that he weakens his see...but long will he sit and in biting activity.

Some see the very old pope as Francis. They are looking to see who will be the next pope and if he fits the description of a Roman of good age.

The second prophecy of Nostradamus talks about the final persecution of the church and that the city of the seven hills will be destroyed followed by judgement. Those who see current events in these words say the city of seven hills is Rome.
