How Prophecy About Kansas City Chiefs Relates to Utah

Does the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers have special significance for fans in Utah? Here’s some strange connections that may give a different slant for people in the beehive state. 

Life After Death Experience 

This is the story of Bob Jones (not the founder of Bob Jones University), who claimed the gift of prophecy after a sudden illness where he died and saw the gates of heaven. He said he was asked by a voice, “Did you learn to love, Bob?” He was revived and spent the rest of his life proclaiming God’s word as he saw it. 

Ministry in Independence Missouri 

He began his ministry near Kansas City and was part of the Kansas City Fellowship. He and others became known as the “Kansas City prophets.” He believed in the gift of prophecy and was known to predict weather disturbances and astrological events. He made his home in Independence, Missouri during these years.

Kansas City Chiefs Championship Prophecy 

Bob Jones told many of a prophecy about the NFL football team in Kansas City. “When the Chiefs win the Super Bowl it will be a sign that God is raising up his apostolic chiefs around the world to bring in a 1 billion soul harvest.” It would be a sign of the end.

Bob Jones passed away in 2014. His widow, Bonnie Kost, who also has prophesied, related the score to chapters in Isaiah. In this video she says the end time is near and the scriptures referenced indicate the truth of it. 

Utah, Independence Missouri and Andy Reid 

What does this mean for people in Utah? Head coach Andy Reid is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and beloved by many in the state. Independence Missouri is important in the church’s history and is designated as a gathering place in the end of times. Also, members of the church believe in prophets and prophecy. 

What Does it Mean?

I have no idea what all this means. Bob Jones didn’t seem to prophesy about there being four Super Bowl appearances for the Chiefs. Would it be significant if they get three championships? Maybe there is nothing to it, or maybe there is something. Maybe it will make a good conversation if the game is boring.
