The One Worst Thing About Each State: What’s Utah?

What do you think is the one thing that is worst in Utah? That is the question ExellentTown.com asked about each state in the U.S. They listed what they thought was the worst thing about each place. 

For example, Nevada, our neighbor to the south, they said has the highest divorce rate. For Idaho on the north, they said it has a reputation for having some of the worst drivers in the nation. Frankly, many in Utah feel we should wear that title. 

I wouldn’t want Colorado’s problems. They say the state grapples with the highest substance abuse rate. Arizona doesn’t get enough dental check-ups. I don’t want to be the state known for bad breath.  

So, what do you think they said for Utah? Are we the worst at using our turn signals, so many kids it feels like a daycare, or maybe it is the inversions that gives us dirty air? None of those and the answer was surprising to me. 

Utah proudly wears the self-renowned title of being the nerdiest state in the United States, according to a study that measured this distinction based on public Facebook likes. The study’s findings showcase the state’s enthusiasm for a wide range of intellectual pursuits, including science, technology, gaming, and various niche interests. 

I have no problem with being nerdy. This could have gone so much worse. Everyone knows nerds end up ruling the world. Sure, we get pushed around by the jocks and popular kids early on, but in the end the nerds get the girl. Just ask Tony Stark or Peter Parker how this all turns out. 

While some may use the term “nerd” in a lighthearted manner, bearing the title of the “nerdiest state” isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It reflects a thriving community of individuals who embrace their unique interests and contribute to the state’s diverse and intellectually stimulating landscape. 

I am totally good with being the nerd state. You bigger popular states call us all the names you want, Utah has the inside track to glory.
