Food Review: New Name and New Menu at This St. George Restaurant
If you go to eat at Porkbelly’s in St. George, you will discover it has turned into something else. The Kitchen Table is open and is serving customers. Here’s what I found when I recently stopped for dinner on a Tuesday.
Extensive Menu Offers Classic American Dishes
The menu is features more of what you would expect to be served in an American kitchen. I had the chicken alfredo and my wife had the chicken fried steak. The portions were large enough that we both took half of it home.

I enjoyed the alfredo. The chicken was well seasoned and the mushrooms in the alfredo sauce were delicious. It also had spinach mixed in the sauce that was a nice addition. It wasn’t the best I have ever had, but it was a close second.
My wife enjoyed her chicken fried steak, especially the mashed potatoes with country gravy. I had a bit of these, and they tasted like someone made them fresh in the kitchen. The consistency was good and the gravy was well seasoned.
Treated Like a Guest in Someone’s Home
The service on this Tuesday night was excellent. We were promptly seated, and our server was friendly and helpful. The owner also made his way from table to table and was charming without over doing it.

Overall, my experience at the Kitchen table was good. There are plenty of other dishes on the menu I would like to try. I really liked Porkbelly’s but I am not disappointed by this option serving up food that feels like home.
