The excitement of the draft is one of the coolest things in the world of being a sports fans.

Whether that player is the 1st, the 5th or the 34th pick fans will imagine the ways in which the shiny new player with untapped upside could legitimately turn their franchise around.

Looking at the latest and greatest product is sweet, knowing they are on your team is also hip, but all the anticipation and excitement can’t touch actually seeing the talent on the hardwood.

I know reality can often be disappointing so understandably fans can be hesitant to see the players first few moments in the pro’s.

The draft is always a gamble, no player or team is ever truly guaranteed to find success.

There are those who will under perform and those that fail.

But for those players who hit the ground running, who can live up to expectations, who give the fans that anticipated hope and then some, the moment is incredibly sweet.

Fans of the Utah Jazz are hoping to experience that as soon as next weekend.

Ace Bailey, Walter Clayton Jr, and John Tonje, all three of Utah’s draft selections as of yesterday are all expected to be present and on the hardwood for their upcoming summer festivities, specifically two summer league showcases.

Along with some familiar faces from last year’s roster, the even younger version of a young Jazz team will do battle with incoming rookies and NBA hopefuls in both Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, Nevada.

With both locations in driving distance for many Jazz fans their will be little reason to not go see the 5th overall pick in the draft in Bailey, the star of March Madness in Clayton Jr, and the thorn in BYU’s side during the tournament in Tonje.

The schedule shakes out as such in the Salt Lake City Summer League on July 5th, which will be played at the University of Utah’s Huntsman Center due to Delta Center renovations:

After the home town fun has come to an end the squad will head to Sin City with 29 other teams for the big show, the NBA 2K26 Summer League that spans 11 days beginning on July 10th:

In grandiose tournament fashion, teams will duke it out for the right to be summer champions.

For a team like the Jazz that is young, inexperienced and uncertain, Summer League play will be a great opportunity to gauge where the upcoming players stand and how much potential the roster may or may not have.

Long story short, Jazz basketball returns in only 8 days (sorta) with new faces in new places and for the first time in a while, there’s a bit more optimism of the direction of the franchise, even if it really is just a bit.
