The 17th season of America Ninja Warrior has completed and a firefighter from Southern Utah has taken the title. Kai Beckstrand defeated every other competitor including his own brother to take home the prize.

Brothers Dominate the Competition

American Ninja Warriors pits competitors in an obstacle course that is made for television. Kai wasn’t the only Beckstrand setting amazing times. His younger brother Luke Beckstrand was flying through the competition.

The only reason Luke didn’t wind up in the final was because he was knocked out by his older brother in the round of eight. Luke is 17 and Kai is 19 and it was one of the most thrilling duels of the season.

Kai starts out strong until Luke pulls ahead. The lead tightens towards the end when Kai passes his brother up on the final obstacle.

Brothers Trained In Their Own Ninja Warrior Gym

The Beckstrand family owns The Grip with two locations in St. George and Washington. This is a facility specifically built to train in Ninja Warrior obstacles. It was here the two brothers had trained together for the competition.

If the show would have done it right, they would have put the brothers in separate brackets to produce an all Beckstrand final. Even better, maybe it is time to bring season 18 to the streets of St. George.
