The official time was 1 hour and 27 minutes for an ice cream cake to melt in Southern Utah. Torri Jones was closest with a time of 1 hour and 29 minutes. Thanks to everyone for playing and thanks to Grass Creek Construction for giving us $100 to give away.

Here's What the cake looks like on the pole. Turns out this is a cloudy day that is slightly cooler. Who would have thought it would like this on the 3rd of July in St. George.

Easiest Way to Win Money in Southern Utah

It is the nation’s birthday, and we are celebrating by making someone’s pursuit of happiness that much better by handing over some dollars. John & Dave will take a standard size ice cream cake and stick it on a pole in the full desert sun starting at 7AM.

There will be updates as it turns from a frozen treat to dripping goo. Your job is to figure out to the minute when it is fully melted. Whoever guesses the closest will win the $100 bucks courtesy of Grass Creek Construction.

Entering a Guess is as Easy as Sending a Text

Here’s how you can get in on this contest. Simply text the amount of time you think it will take for the ice cream cake to melt. Give hours and minutes and include your name and send it to 435-429-1075.

Your guess will be entered into our official database. We will note the time when the it is all liquid and then our host of certified accountants will determine who predicted the time closest to reality and they win the $100.

In the event of a tie, our accountants will flip a coin for the winner. Good luck. You can begin sending in your best guess as of right now. Thank you to Grass Creek Construction for the money and America for having the birthday.

Tune into John & Dave at Star 98 for updates. That's on your radio dial at 98.1 or 98.5 depending on your location.
