Unexpected Twist Makes Carne Asada Tacos Shine At Peppers Cantina In Bloomington

There is something about street tacos that feels authentic. Food sold on the street is for people on the run are looking for good flavor and something that will keep you moving. The street tacos at Pepper's Cantina fit this taste perfectly.

Flavorful Carne Asada Tacos

Street tacos with carne asada at Pepper's Cantina come with grilled steak cut into chunks that preserve that smoky flavor. They are grilled with jalapeños that give a hint of spicy without being overpowering.

You can have it with flour or corn tortillas. I chose flour at the recommendation of my helpful server and it was good that way. What made the difference with this street taco was the fried egg on top.

A Surprising Twist: The flavor of an Egg

At first I wasn't sure about the egg. However, it has a way of bringing all the flavors together. I salted the egg slightly and the creamy yoke mixed with the meat in a surprising way. It is hard to describe but it brought a balance to all the flavors.

Everything is made fresh at Pepper's Cantina including the chips and salsa. They were tasty and I ate them all. It is a lot of food. I would probably eat one of those tacos and take the second one home for later.
