Small Out of the Way Utah Town Is Serving Up the Best Burgers
Next time you are traveling through Utah and you want to eat, there is a place way off the beaten path that is serving up some amazing hamburgers. This is a place in Delta, Utah named Ashton's Burger Barn.
Local Flavors: Sourcing the Best Ingredients
Delta is about a half hour from I-15 if you take the Holden exit towards the Nevada line. This is an establishment that sources locally grown beef and you can buy cuts inside. They also have a place serving up burgers, fries, and shakes.
When we pulled in off the main road, almost every parking stall was taken. That was a good sign. We walked in and the tables were full of families and locals, as well as visitors passing through.
A Burger Experience That Doesn't Disappoint
I had the Home Town burger with sauteed mushrooms and grilled onions piled high on ground beef with all the texture of cows fed on Utah fields. There was also a slice of ham with swiss cheese. It was sloppy and delicious. Truly one of the best burgers I have eaten.
Everything was good from the Oreo shake to the onion rings, and tasted like it had just been made from scratch. I'm not sure if it is worth an hour drive out of your way when traveling the freeway, but it is definitely worth it if you are out that way.
You might also consider taking the Meathead Challenge to get your name on the wall of fame. This is 8 quarter pound patties with the bun and fixins, as well as a pound of fries. If you can finish it all in 30 minutes get your picture on the wall.

I enjoyed Delta, but don't look for my picture on the wall. I can't eat that much. Ashton's is everything you hope from a small town burger place in the heart of America.
