According to UNLV Fans, Utah Tech Fans Are the Best
This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending a UNLV football game at the awe-inspiring Allegiant Stadium, home to both the UNLV Rebels and the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. If you haven’t seen this $1.9 billion marvel yet, put it on your bucket list. It’s a glittering temple of sports where dreams are made—and occasionally crushed under 72,000 square feet of LED screens. The sheer size and spectacle were jaw-dropping, but what impressed me even more than the stadium? The comments from UNLV fans about Utah Tech’s incredible supporters.
While chatting with UNLV fans, I asked how playing in Allegiant Stadium has influenced their team’s performance. Naturally, the topic shifted to visiting teams and their fans. Without me even mentioning my Southern Utah roots, they brought up how exceptional Utah Tech fans were.
First off, they noted that Utah Tech packed the visitor seating section. Considering Allegiant Stadium can hold 65,000 fans, that’s no small feat. Numbers don’t lie—Trailblazer Nation showed up in force.
Next, they were blown away by the energy. Loud? Check. Supportive? Absolutely. But rude? No sir. UNLV fans, who’ve seen their fair share of visiting crowds, were genuinely impressed by the Utah Tech fanbase’s sportsmanship.
Then came the cherry on top: Utah Tech brought their own band and cheer squad. Apparently, many schools—including powerhouse San Diego State—struggle to muster a decent showing at Allegiant. But Utah Tech? They brought the party.
So what drew so many fans from St. George? Maybe it was the allure of Allegiant’s shiny digs—trust me, it’s worth the trip. Or maybe it's the color red? Whatever the reason, Utah Tech fans were passionate, loyal, and ready to represent their team.

Kudos to Utah Tech for putting Southern Utah pride on the map and proving that a strong fanbase can leave a lasting impression—even in the house of the Rebels.
