Best Place To Have A Baby: Utah Highest in the West
Ranking of Best States to Have a Baby
If you are in the womb and plan to be born soon and your mother lives in Nevada, you may want to start sending messages through the umbilical cord that you want to move to Utah. According to WalletHub and their list of “Best States to Have a Baby” you will be better off.
In fact, it would be better to be in Utah than anywhere else in the West. Utah ranked higher than all the states from the Rockies to the coast. First let's take a look at how WalletHub ranked the states.
They looked at the cost of having a baby, the quality of the healthcare, and baby and family friendliness in each state. The total of these scores determined the rank. Utah came in at number 9 overall. Nevada was way down at number 46.
What States Are Ranked Higher Than Utah?
Massachusetts was number one on the list by scoring number two in healthcare and their friendliness rankings. Surprisingly, North Dakota was number two followed by Minnesota.
The bottom of the list features South Carolina, then Alabama, and at the lowest is Mississippi. Utah would have been higher on the list if the cost of having a baby were cheaper. That is the reason North Dakota did so well.
