What Happens In Utah If The Dining Option Suddenly Disappears?
Could This New Fast-Food Design in Georgia Be the New Way?
Chick-fil-A has built a new concept location that only offers drive-thru, no inside dining. The kitchen sits on the second floor and sends orders via conveyor belt to the four-lane drive-thru below. They can move cars through almost non-stop and customers like it.
Part of why it moves so fast is people order online through the app. When they arrive, their food is ready to go. This is good for the business as they don’t have to staff a dining room or even provide people to take the order. This is a big deal with rising costs in the fast-food business.
The Benefits of Faster Food That is Less Expensive
It is always nice to stop somewhere and eat. You can get more ketchup or refill your drink as you munch your food. But here’s the question. Do you care so much about dining in if your favorite sandwich costs a lot less and the wait time is almost nonexistent?
I think this new concept could quickly become the norm for fast-food. Especially if the minimum wage keeps rising and costs for goods continue to go up. On top of that, it can be hard to find workers when the economy is really humming, and this solves that problem.

This is one of those innovations that could be a big deal. There has been speculation that robots would replace workers in fast-food world and it's possible they could do the sandwich assembly functions. I feel like we all may be living in one of those bad in-the-future movies soon.
