How much of your monthly budget goes to eating fast food? Answering this question can tell you a lot about where Utah’s economy stands compared to other states. The news is good compared to some of our neighbors.

Utah Spends Far Less on Fast Food Than Most of the Country

WalletHub noted that the price of fast food has jumped 47% in the last decade. It used to be that fast food was a cheap place to get quick meal, but things have changed. With these rising prices, going out for pizza or a burger is putting a crunch on people’s incomes.

In some good news for residents of the beehive state, we are spending a lot less percentagewise than other parts of the country. Utah is ranked number 47 when they crunch the numbers with just 0.30% being spent on fast food.

Even With Lower Prices Overall Mississippi is Getting Hit Hard

Residents of the gulf states are getting stretched by the price of fast food. Mississippi spends 0.47% of their monthly household income on fast food. The prices are lower there, but household income is not good, so they still take the biggest hit.

New Mexico touches a corner of Utah and sits at number two on the list. They also spend 0.47% on some quick grub.
