Utah Won’t Allow This In Your Home
Wha? You can't own this as a pet in Utah?
The time has come for us to expand our family. I thought we would go the route of many of our neighbors and pick up a new member of the family, a pet.
I'm not looking for everyday pets like dogs, cats, guinea pigs, pot pigs, mini ponies, or even canaries.
So I am going to pick up the latest trendy pet that I hear is sweeping the nation. Of course you know what I am talking about a cuddly moose. Yeah, it's going to be great.
What? You doubt this decision. Wow, I thought you were enlightened. Why can't you respect my ideas?
I know you are thinking they are too tall to make good pets, but have you ever seen a Great Dane curled up on someone's lap? Yeah, I think the moose is going to work out just fine.
The antlers? We'll just widen the doorways and we can teach it to not ram furniture, family members or windows.
Come on, think how cool it will be when I take it for a walk. Well, I don't care I decided I want one and I am getting one. You'll see I have a way with animals...
This conversation might be the reason owning a moose as a pet in Utah is illegal. Some wise lawmaker probably decided to remove the option before someone with a big heart, but short on wisdom decided that this was the pet move for them.
Some of our laws don't make sense this one, I think, might be inspired.
