Why Do Some People Have More Friends at Work?

As humans, we are social beings. We enjoy interactions with others even if it is just casually here and there at work. When we are too isolated, we get too into the thoughts in our own head. It would seem like social media would help, but there is nothing like an in-person conversation.

If you find yourself constantly in a state of survival. Your mind is in some sort of fight or flight state all the time, you may need to find more social interaction. This may be easier said than done.

Is it hard to make friends with co-workers or people at church? You may feel you lack the ability to connect meaningfully with others.

One Easy Way to Get Others to Immediately Like You

This is a simple thing to do that will cause others to think well of you. When having a conversation, take an opportunity to talk well of another person who is not there. This should include the qualities you admire in this other person.

Something like this. “Have you met Lisa? She is really perceptive and always so helpful.” It doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that, but it does need to be truthful and heartfelt. This way of randomly complimenting others who aren’t around has an amazing effect.

Why Does It Work?

For one, the person you are talking to will realize that you may be saying the same kinds of things about them when talking to others. Associates will feel more comfortable having conversations with you. It is the opposite of what happens when you are constantly running people down behind their back.

The second thing is it creates a cool psychological effect where the person you are talking to attributes those qualities you described in others, to you. That means when you say Lisa is perceptive, they will think you are also perceptive. They will see in you the same positive traits you describe.
