Utah Secures Top Spot In The World Of Philanthropy
Wallet Hub did a study to determine what state is the most charitable. They tracked financial donations as well as time donated. Here's to Utah; the top most charitable state per WalletHub.
Utah, the land of the Beehive and benevolence is the charity champ, strutting its stuff with a volunteer rate of 40.7% - beating out every other state, hands down. Utahns are busier volunteering than a caffeinated beehive during pollen season, racking up a whopping 39.42 hours per capita.
As most people know Utah has a high percentage of actively religious people. With a population that's more devout than a squirrel saving up for winter, their religious fervor lays the groundwork for some serious philanthropy.
In fact, the study unveiled a jaw-dropping stat – Utah residents are so generous with their moolah that they part with 3.89% of their hard-earned cash to lend a hand to those in need. That's more than just the icing on the charity cake; it's the whole cake!
And if you think Utah stops at cutting checks, think again. Over half the population gets in on the action, donating their precious time to noble causes. They're so good at it that the Utah Nonprofits Association even hosts a fancy shindig, the Philanthropy Day celebration, where they hand out "Hearts & Hands Awards" to star volunteers. Yep, they celebrate their philanthropic heroes like they're the Avengers of altruism.
Hats off to Utah, where generosity flows like honey from the beehive.
