A condiment has been developed for making grilled cheese. The new Butternaise made by Tillamook may be the perfect solution to the butter or mayonnaise argument and what gives a better toast. This might be the condiment Utah didn’t know they needed.

The Combination of Two Popular Spreads

Sometimes the reason people don’t like a food is the consistency or how it feels in your mouth.  I could never eat squash or bottled peaches, not that I disliked the tastes, it was the sliminess of the food.

In the same way, I love mayonnaise and butter because I like the creaminess and the taste is an added bonus. Now there comes a product that blends them together. This could be something special. Of course, it also might be awful.

This is a limited addition product. Tillamook who makes butter spread joined up with KEWPIE who delivers a mayo product to create Butternaise. It is only available online and aims to settle the grilled cheese debate.

I will be purchasing the new spread and eating a big spoonful on-air. It sounds like a sacrifice, but I would do it anyway. I’m kind of weird that way.

It is surprising someone hasn’t come up with this combination before. Honey butter is a favorite, especially slathered on a hot scone. And in Utah we love the ketchup combined with mayo for the popular pink sauce.

I’m sure I can find some places to use Butternaise if it taste as good as it sounds. It would be great on corn on the cob and could make a loaded bake potato pop. I see a future where they sell it in gallon size at Costco.
