Here's three items to look for that you might not realize is worth money to a collector.
Old Luggage and Travel Posters
Travel catches people's attention and vintage pieces are worth money. A weathered leather suitcase from the past can bring anywhere from $500 to $1000. If there are rolled up travel posters from early in the century, they can be worth thousands.
Even that old camera sitting on top of the suitcase can be a collectors item. That's not all. Check out the contents in the suitcase. There might be more collector gems hiding there.
Letters, Photographs, and Post Cards
It can be easy to dismiss and toss out old letters and documents. Take some time to inspect each item. Old letters that are tied to historic wars or major events are prized. Signatures or pictures of famous people in the past are a gold mine.
Post cards are valued by the cities and travel destinations they feature. Don't let insights in history get dumped in the trash to save that old suitcase. Photographs of famous landmarks from the past are valuable. Don't forge to check the stamps on envelopes.
Christmas Ornaments and Holiday Tins
The holidays are a happy time and people love to collect rare pieces from the past. Metal tins from the made to look like anything but a normal box can be valuable. If they contain rare Christmas ornaments inside even better.
