True? The Most Overrated List Includes Popular Utah Temple
A list of underrated and overrated tourist attractions from every state in the Union by the Observer looks at places that don't live up to the hype. This place in Utah gets more than 5 million people a year but is on the list.
The Most Overrated Tourist Attraction in Utah
Temple square in Salt Lake is their pick for the most overrated tourist attraction. They don't give any explanation for why. But before you decide they must have visited while it has been under construction for the last five years or they missed the Christmas lights, this was decided by people in Utah
The list was compiled with how locals feel about the place. Each state poll sampled 2,500 people from the state. Apparently, we aren't that excited about what temple square has to offer.
On the other hand, the most underrated tourist attraction according to Utahns was Arches National Park. I don't know if it is necessarily underrated, but it is spectacular. There's seems to be a disconnect between locals and those who visit.
What Is On Your List?
Personally I would have put Goblin Valley State Park on the underrated list. This state park is memorable for its valley of humanoid looking rock formations. It kind of looks like Mordor from the Lord of the Rings complete with an orc army.

My pick for the over hyped tourist attraction is where three other states meet ours. The Four Corners Monument is way overrated. You pay $8 bucks to look at a square on the ground where the states meet. Amazing.
