Odd: Not One Utah City Makes List for Active Lifestyle
Providing Opportunities to Be Active
WalletHub looked at the best and worst cities if you are looking for an active lifestyle. They looked at factors like parks, fitness clubs, even if a city lacks sidewalks. There were 35 factors analyzed, and they listed 100 cities on the list.
The top three cities for those looking for an active lifestyle were Honolulu, New York and San Francisco. At the bottom was North Las Vegas beating out Irving, Texas and Fort Wayne Indiana for the bottom. But that was better apparently than any city in Utah.
The Beehive State Doesn’t Get Even One City on the List
That’s right, there isn’t a single Utah city in the 100 analyzed. In fact, much of the Mountain West was left off, including Wyoming, Montana and both Dakotas. I find it hard to believe that these states don’t have a ton of active lifestyle opportunities.
Maybe it has to do with the factors they looked at. The hiking, biking and exploring opportunities abound in these mountainous states. Maybe there are less gyms and parks here because nature provides so much. If you included the number of national parks, perhaps it would change things.

I think the survey could be renamed the best and worst cities to live in if you don’t have natural wonders in your backyard and you still want to be active. Looking at the way this list is organized, you might think the the place to be healthy and experience outdoor wonders is Wisconsin.
