Hey fellow Utahns, we have an unexpected social media obsession. A survey that took place back in 2019 looked at the favorite social platform in each state. Utah had a surprising choice and it is still popular in the beehive state.

While Facebook and Instagram are used a lot in Utah, it was Pinterest that was number one. Most of the rest of the county favor Instagram and TikTok, so, why are we so in love with pinning?

I would argue that one reason is because of the entrepreneurial culture. There are a large number of stay-at-home parents and small business owners, many use Pinterest for inspiration and marketing.

From tons of homemade crafts and home renovation hacks to self-care ideas, the social media platform fuels creativity. Online stores like Etsy thrive from creators sharing their designs and bloggers drive traffic to their sites.

Utah has More Families and is More Religious

One of the more obvious reasons has got to be that family and religion have to play a role. With a large population of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint that values home-centered living, which fits perfect with Pinterest’s focus on family activities, meal prep, and modest fashion.

Not to mention, Pinterest remains the go-to place for dream wedding boards that Utah is known for especially among our younger on average brides-to-be.

As Utah continues to increase its influencer content creators, Pinterest has to be one of the key platforms to drive traffic and generate income through sponsorships. These creators prove that pinning is more than a hobby and that Utah is setting the trends for the rest of the country
