Pictures Of The Deceased: Utah Loves it’s Photos
Since my wife is a hospice nurse we have lots of great dinner table conversations. You decide. Is this story normal or is it a sign that we have gone a little nutty for the latest snapshot?
She shared a story with us about a colleague we will call Nurse Cleo. She was called to do what they call a death visit for a family whose mom had passed. The family asked if they could put a cute outfit on Mom for a family photo. It was a strange request, but Cleo justified that we all grieve in different ways so she patiently agreed.
They took some time to dress her up in an outfit and then gathered around her for selfies, group shots, and solo pictures of her.
They finished the photo session when they told her that she had another outfit and took the body out of the room. They brought her in with what seemed like a costume and proceeded to take more photos.
5 costume changes later Cleo was starting to feel like maybe this was enough plus she had other visits to make so she called the mortuary.
When the mortuary got there they prepared the body and put her in the hearse. Then one of the family members asked if the attending morticians might slowly load the body so they could take a photo. Then one of them requested that the hearse be moved so they could get a landmark in the background.
Cleo thought this was a little over the top, what do you think?
