Chapter 10 Experimenting 57
Borgin began walking around behind the students, checking their work.
After much mental anguish, Ipses discovered the number his equation was missing. In confusion he wrote it in and began working the problem from that point.

It was too late for him. Borgin now stood behind him as he worked frantically at the problem. “Turn and face me Ipses.” Trembling, he slowly stood and turned to face his instructor.
“Why haven’t you finished?” Borgin’s voice took on a threatening tone.

“I missed a number sir,” Ipses said in a quavering voice.
“Sloppy work deserves punishment. You will remain here and clean up for the others.” Borgin raised his hand and sent Ipses tumbling backwards into the bench. Holding his bruised back, he nodded obediently.
A few days later, they had learned how increasing the air pressure in an enclosed space increased the temperature of the gas.
Borgin had brought a metal container. Metal was very rare in the demon world. He had energized and expanded the air inside and they could feel the heat reflecting from the sides of it.

I wonder how I could use this principle.
Succubus didn't have any sort of container, but he had been able to wall up the air in the tunnel. Through trial and error, he discovered he could not do it on a grand scale, but he could accomplish it on a very small area the size of his finger. He could use his will as a barrier that enclosed a small puff of air. This he energized, expanding the gas, creating more pressure, and heating it significantly.
Little bits of invisible heat at the tip of my finger. Hmm.
