Southern Utah University (SUU) is gearing up for its annual celebration of Founders Week, running from March 11 to March 16. This cherished tradition brings together students, alumni, and the entire SUU community to honor the institution's rich history and lasting legacy.

Kicking off the week on Monday, March 11, is the Dino-Mite Tradition Week Kick-Off event, organized by the Student Alumni Association. Starting at 2:00 p.m. in front of the Geoscience Building, attendees are invited to participate in crossing off 25 traditions from the Tradition Keeper list by the week's end to earn a coveted Tradition Keeper T-shirt.

The highlight of the week is the annual Howard R. Driggs Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, March 12, at 11:30 a.m. in the Gilbert Great Hall, Hunter Alumni Center. This year's guest speaker is Zonnie Gorman, a renowned historian of the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II. Later in the evening, at 6:00 p.m., attendees can unleash their artistic side in "Paint Your Own Portrait" at the Hunter Alumni Center.

Wednesday, March 13, offers "Lunch on the Main" from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring various locations across campus where participants can enjoy food and stories from SUU's founding. Softball enthusiasts can catch the game against Utah State at 1:00 p.m. on Kathryn Berg Field.

Thursday, March 14, features "5's & Fries" at 11:30 a.m. in the Sharwan Smith Center Ballroom, followed by the prestigious Founders Awards Banquet at 6:30 p.m., honoring distinguished service awardees Carrie Trenholm and Dan & Jane Roberts. Additionally, a lively "Western Swing Night" awaits in the Multi-Purpose Gym.

Friday, March 15, is packed with activities, including "Red Friday" to showcase T-Bird pride, "What's Your Tradition?" event for sharing and celebrating unique traditions, and the Music Department Recital in Thorley Recital Hall. The softball action continues at noon on Kathryn Berg Field.

Concluding the week on Saturday, March 16, softball fans can witness the game against Stephen F. Austin at noon, followed by the lively "Casino Night" at 8:00 p.m. in the Sharwan Smith Student Center.
