Hungry For The Bird? Southern Utah’s Best Chicken Options
Chicken Wars in Southern Utah
There was a time when the chicken sandwich was on the menu as an alternative to all the burger options. KFC did chicken right, but it was generally in a bucket not between buns. Not any longer. Chicken menu items have multiplied and have given the traditional burger place competition.
If you like chicken, there are now so many different ways you can enjoy it. Some places that are known for chicken are great, but so are places that just have it on the menu. Here is my unofficial recommendation for different kinds of chicken available as a resident of Southern Utah.
Bucket of Chicken
KFC and Popeyes both offer chicken thighs and breasts for those looking for good fried chicken. Don’t overlook the grocery stores for this kind of fried goodness. I am especially a fan of the fried chicken at Lin's. Also, El Pollo Loco offers chicken meals where it is roasted, and it is good.
Chicken Sandwich
There are so many good options here from Chick-Fil-A with at 4.6 rating on google, to Super Chix, and if you like a spicier version, Jay Birds by Red Cliffs and Houston TX Hot Chicken off Bluff offer some tasty options. These places make the traditional chicken sandwich seem old and tired.
Chicken Fried Stake
If you like this gravy covered dish, there are some great places to get it in Southern Utah. Cracker Barrel, Bishops and Black Bear all have yummy versions, but the best in my book is at Texas Roadhouse. It is done to perfection.
Non-Traditional Chicken
Viva Chicken offers a Peruvian style chicken that is very good. You May also want to try out Express Chicken on Sunset Blvd that has a middle eastern style chicken that has a high 4.6 google review for good reason.
