When booking a stay overnight, you want a good price, but you don’t want to stay in something awful. SavingAdvice.com looked at customers' reviews and came out with their 2025 list of the Dirtiest Hotel Chains. 

List of the Top 4 Hotel Chains with the Worst Reviews 

My in-laws booked a stay over the weekend and had a lousy experience. They called a couple of weeks in advance to make sure they had a wheelchair accessible room available. They double-checked again the day before and were assured all was in order. 

When they arrived, they were informed the rooms that are wheelchair accessible had been booked for weeks and they would have to take what was available. Their experience went downhill from there, and it turns out the motel they stayed at was number one on the list. 

Here are the chains on the worst reviewed list starting from number four and working up.

4. Motel 6 

Motel 6 offers very affordable rooms, but it might be better if the light wasn’t left on for you. With 868 reviews, there were 646 with only 1 star. 

3. Econo Lodge 

It may not be true of all the motels in this chain, but most of the reviews were not happy with their room's cleanliness. Of the 246 reviews, 110 were a single star. 

2. Super 8 

Many who stayed here did not find it that super with many describing aging rooms and furniture and questionable cleanliness. 607 reviews for the Super 8 with 420 of them mustering 1 star. 

1. Days Inn 

This chain offering affordable accommodations took the top spot for the dirtiest hotel chain. Their reviews overall are not good. Consumers complain about dirty rooms and scary locations. 1.5 stars overall with 365 out of 519 giving 1 star.
