The Utah Department of Transportation has plans to improve Bluff Street in St. George. They are looking to provide better traffic flow and make the road safer. There’s a great opportunity to talk to them about it at the Dixie Transportation Expo.

Enhancing Traffic Safety on Bluff Street

This project is moving forward after getting input from the City of St. George. It will make improvements on Bluff Street between Main St and the Boulevard. This will involve raised medians that will limit contact points that cause accidents.

Turning onto a busy road with multiple lanes can be harrowing and often leads to accidents. This new design will not only make it safer but can move traffic better. It will also increase the capacity of the intersections.

Upgraded Infrastructure: Pavement and Drainage Solutions

Included in the project is new pavement and improvements to how the water drains when it storms. This need became evident in some of the drenching rains that soaked the area in the last few years.

The Dixie Transportation Expo is coming to the Dixie Center on February 17th. To get a better idea about this project, plan on attending anytime between 10 and 5 PM. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions.

The improvement to Bluff St is scheduled to begin in May of this year and get finished in the winter of 2028. This would be the time to find out and plan for impacts on traffic and to businesses in this area at the expo.
