Watching that fire explode towards him, Succubus knew what he wanted to work on next. He was fascinated by what he had seen his instructor do with fire. He reviewed the events over and over in his mind trying to discover how he conjured the flame from nothing.

I have something new to practice.

As they left the classroom, Succubus smiled. It was nice to have someone else experience a little bit of Borgin’s wrath for a change. He was in no hurry as he made his way back to the cavern where they slept. Slowly working his way through the tunnel mazes, thinking about cursing with fire, he practiced making small whirlwinds in the air. As he sent a strong whirlwind down the passageway, he saw a familiar stumbling form.

“Looks like you’ve learned some cursing,” said Ansu.

Succubus stopped moving the air, but the whirlwind ran into the old demon and twisted his robe around his torso.

Ansu let down the bag of roots he was carrying. “What kind curse was that?” he asked.

Succubus shrugged. “I just made the air turn in a circle,” he answered.

“That was your own design I assume?” asked Ansu and Succubus shrugged again.

The old demon rocked back and forth thoughtfully.

Thinking of his recent experience in the classroom, Succubus asked, “Do you know how to curse with fire?”
