It is no secret that people in Utah love the Lord of the Rings movies. When something is that popular, having a weapon or armor from the movies would give you a lot of cred. If it is an original prop from the movies, it will cost you, but not as much as you might think.

For example, Gandalf’s staff, the one when he becomes the white wizard, sold for $325,000 back in 2014. The only other way to get one is to battle a Balrog from the lowest dungeon to the highest peak. (Reference for LOR nerds).

Same goes for Legolas’ Lothlorien bow that sold for $310,000 or Gimli’s axe that went for $185,000. Surprisingly, Aragorn’s sword only fetched $62,500 in 2013. Apparently mythical characters carry more expensive weapons.

Bargains Props That Would Still Bring Awe and Respect

If you don’t mind Aragorn’s broken sword that he inherited from his traitorous ancestor, that one sold for just $25,600 in 2013. Even better, the whole costume of the Uruk-hui Luriz who had his head removed by Aragorn sold for $27,500.

If none of these are in your price range, you can settle for a replica of the original. There are several sites offering authentic copies. Everything from orc gear to dwarf armor can be purchased.

Just don’t try to kill any massive spiders with a replica of Frodo’s short sword sting. Even with the original it was a close battle.
