Pioneer Day is Friday July 24th and John & Dave will give away $100 cash on Star 98 thanks to the good folks at Grass Creek Construction. How good are you at knowing prices? What if it is for items from the 1800s?

How to Easily Win $100 to Celebrate Pioneer Day

John & Dave have a list of items the average pioneer would need to buy. Things like flower, frying pans, wash basins. On Friday they will take a caller on the radio and give them one item with its price.

They will then give a second item. Your job is to guess whether the second item costs more or less than the first. If you get five in a row, you win the $100. If you are good at knowing what pioneer items cost, this is the game for you.

This is How It Will Sound On-Air on Friday

Dave: Call now at 435-986-8999 to win $100 cash from Grass Creek Construction.

John:  We have some common household items that a pioneer family would need to buy to make the trek west.

Dave: Hello caller. A frying pan will cost you .75 cents in 1850. Would a bushel of turnips cost you more or less?

Caller: I think the turnips would cost less.

John: <Ding Ding> That is correct. A bushel of turnips is .40 cents.

Dave: Next is a couple bars of soap, more or less than the turnips?

Caller: More?

Dave: <Buzzer> I'm sorry two bars of soap is only .30 cents.

Listen and win this Thursday. Big thanks to Grass Creek Construction who makes all this possible. You can listen to Star 98 at 98.1 and 98.5 on the FM Dial. You can also listen on the Star 98 App.
