The Number One Utah Idea for Romance

Love is in the air and the big romance holiday is on the way. What is the most romantic thing you can do in Utah? There are a myriad of answers. Here is a list we Utahns came up with as I asked around. Even though there are a bunch of good ideas here there is one that stands out as the most popular idea by far.

Before we tackle the obvious number one, let's look at the rest of the list:

• Go hiking on a beautiful southern Utah trail.
• Get a couples massage.
• Do a job your partner hates to do.
• Go to the movies.
• Enjoy a mystery or escape room together.
• Write a love note, poem or song.
• Hot tub or go to a spa together.
• Go country line dancing.
• Gifts: From a fluffy animal to a card, to a getaway.

The number one suggestion far and above all the other responses:

• Eat food together.

Of course the most popular is to go out and eat, then comes making a special dinner, getting each other a decadent treat, making a treat, a box of chocolates, special drinks, and the list goes on. Why is romance so tied to food? There is a connection between love and appetite. We can't help it our stomachs and our hearts seemed to be linked.

Some analogies between the tug of the heart and the longings of the stomach can turn funny if we follow them too deep, but suffice it to say that if you want to sweep them off their feet, get something to eat.
