Chapter 12 Overthrown by Fire 78
Succubus knew what was coming next. His teacher would demonstrate it, using him as the subject to be burned.

I am not getting torched by that focused flame. He had to do something, and he began to think around the problem.
Succubus knew demons only know aggression. They clash and the demon with the stronger will and greater ability wins. Any who were to receive a curse of fire from another, would try to block it by using his stronger will. He might try to turn the curse and fling it back on his opponent or he might send an alternate curse to hurt and distract. But suddenly, Succubus had a different idea.

Borgin called him forward and told him to kneel on the floor in front of him. He then raised his hand and began to form the air as he had before. He would direct the fire down directly onto the head of his most hated pupil.
A Surprising Response
While his teacher was focused manipulating the air for his “demonstration,” the kneeling Succubus raised his hands close to his chest. He carefully funneled the molecules around his head in a protective cone, ready to catch the approaching curse from Borgin. He then positioned the molecules in a way to carry the fire forward into a narrowing, barrel like projectile, that would speed the fire further, thrusting it directly back in his teacher’s face.
