Chapter 9 Falling Rocks Installment 50
Borgin had described how one could will the energy in the molecules to perform one’s desires. In the last couple of weeks, they had practiced more in class and Succubus had been able to move the air. He had energized it and, in so doing, created small low-pressure spots that then caused the denser air to swirl around itself. In this way he made small dust devils spin.

Although he had done more than any of the other demons in class, his teacher had mocked him as slow and incapable.
“Is this the one who saves demonkind?” Borgin asked, sneering down his sloped face. “It must be, for look, he can make dust whirl.”
Turning Taunting into Opportunity
Succubus had been careful not to meet his teacher’s eyes and Borgin returned to his seat at the front of the class. He then proceeded to spend the next few hours watching his students practice and occasionally flinging rocks at the ‘chosen’s’ head saying, “If you are the one to save demonkind, why don’t you save your big head from these rocks?”
Now Succubus sat practicing, feeling the molecules in the air above some small stones near where he lay. He willed the air above the rocks, increasing the energy and causing more collisions between molecules and thus expanding it and lowering its density. The air rushed upward, rotating from one side of the stone to the other. As he continued to practice, he was pleasantly surprised to see the small rocks begin to vibrate.
The stones have life!
He concentrated even harder, increasing the pressure until one of the small stones lifted completely off the ground, making a low whirring sound. A big, dumb smile slid across his face as the fist-sized rock floated slowly upwards. He lowered it to the ground, then lifted it up again several times.
