You can have a say in how the rebuild of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon looks like right now as the National Park Service is asking for your input. This is needed after the Dragon Bravo Fire left the visitors center and and other buildings in ashes.

Your Voice Matters: Rebuilding the North Rim

There are plans to build a visitor center and lodging as there was before. Because so much of it burned in the fire, they want to asses what visitors are most interested in and design plans around the current needs.

They want to know things like the features that appeal to you most and what seasons you are interested in visiting this side of the Grand Canyon. These decisions will have an effect on future generations. Here are the specific topics from the site:

How do each of the proposed visitor-lodging concepts meet or not meet the needs and expectations of current and future generations of visitors?

What are the benefits of the 3-season, 4-season, or year-round visitor season concepts? How could the NPS improve them?

Which features or elements of these concepts strongly appeal to you? What aspects contribute to that appeal?

The plan is to begin the restoration of critical utilities beginning this fall. The full restoration of the North Rim will begin in fall of 2027.
