Every year, New Year’s resolutions sneak up on us, offering a golden opportunity to commit to doing better and making those long-awaited changes. But do they actually work, or are they just a clever scheme by gyms to boost memberships?

Here in Utah, we might take our resolutions a bit more seriously than other states—perhaps because we’re just a tad more driven toward self-improvement because of our religious base or maybe we're still trying to perfect that new pickleball return. And guess what? It seems to be paying off! In March of last year, a whopping two-thirds of Utahns reported they were still sticking to their New Year’s resolutions and the nation was pacing right along with us. That's pretty impressive, considering two months ago you resorted to binge-watching TV in your pajamas over going on a walk.

Making it through March means you’ve conquered the first quarter of the year. That’s no small feat! It’s a quarter of a year spent living a better, more improved life. So why not dig deep this year and see how far you can go? Even if you only make it through March, that’s still a significant achievement. A full quarter of the year spent on self-improvement is more impressive and just think you'll have a head start on everyone else's "summer body" resolutions.

Imagine That

Imagine the positive changes you can bring into your life by simply sticking to your resolutions for those three crucial months. Plus, think of the bragging rights! When your friends are struggling with their goals, you can proudly say, “Hey, at least I made it through March!”
