New Movie Studio in Las Vegas Tantalizing for Big Stars
Las Vegas has everything. All you need for entertainment can be found in this desert oasis including multiple pro sports, big shows, and everything that comes with the gaming industry. The only thing lacking is a movie studio. That could change soon.
Plans for a Massive Movie Studio on 31 Acres
Two big names in the movie business, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros, want to team up to build Summerlin Studios at Town Center Drive and Flamingo Road. It can move forward as soon as a bill is approved by the Nevada legislature.
This would be a mixed-use space that could bring a whole new industry to this part of Nevada. If everything pans out as they expect it could bring 18,000 jobs to the Las Vegas area and a projected $3 billion to the local economy.
Mark Walberg and Mel Gibson Production
This part of the entertainment industry seems like a natural fit for Las Vegas. Big stars and glamour fit with all the entertainment. There have been efforts towards bringing movies to this area for awhile now.
Recently Mel Gibson came to Nevada to direct Mark Walberg in a movie shot in southern Nevada. Walberg is a resident of the state and has promoted the bill that would bring the new studio.
