Subway Tile Is Out and Colored Backsplash Is Now Coming to Utah Kitchens
Design trends are constantly changing. Remodeling your kitchen every few years may not be a financial reality, but the new look for your kitchen backsplash can be done without breaking your bank account.
White Subway Tiles are Out and More Color is In
Now that your whole kitchen has stunning white subway tiles on the backsplash between the countertop and the cabinets, you are just in time to see it...go out of style. Before you grab a crowbar and start ripping down the walls, there might be another option.
With people adding some color and texture to their backsplash, you can add your own design and pattern onto the white subway tiles. This is done by hand painting the tiles right where they are on the wall.
How to Add Color to Existing Tiles
This is done using an enamel paint to create a pattern on the tile or even an artistic scene. You may have to sand the tile to make the paint stick and then cover it with a sealer when you have the look you want.
If you aren’t comfortable free handing something with a paintbrush, a simple stencil can make everything look uniform. You could hire someone to paint a simple scene that will make your kitchen stand out as your own personal art piece.
