How To Get A TV Show To Pay For Your Home Remodel

Here’s a tip for remodeling your home and getting someone else to pay for it. As a bonus, you can appear on a national show and get your fifteen minutes of fame.

Head over to HGTV. They have several shows that are always looking for new content and new guests. You can apply to be on “House Hunters”, “Property Brothers”, ”Lottery Winner”, and twelve more listed on the site.  

Why do I know this? Because my brother bought an old fire station, applied to HGTV and now will be a part of one of the shows. And the best part is they will pay for the renovation. I don’t want to give away too much in case it messes up his deal, but this is an opportunity for all of us. 

If you think you would like to be on TV with a home renovation, the first thing you need to do is figure out a compelling story that they would want to air. My brother bought a fire station and is making it a home. That’s a cool idea. What could you buy here in Southern Utah? Maybe an old jail, church building or a theatre. 

If it’s not too late you should buy Sunset Bowl and turn it into your personal space.

Maybe you could get your hands on an airplane hangar at the old airport or the old fiesta fun building. The tunnel that goes through the bluff from the old highway would be great. 

Then make your story compelling. Tell them you are a reformed pirate with two false legs. They may not buy that one, but you get the idea. Any sort of ailment or strange family dynamic should do the trick. Get that application in and let's see some of these shows doing segments from here in the St George area.
