If you are a fan of baseball, Las Vegas and/or the outdoors you will be excited to see the concept images for the new Athletics stadium. This innovative stadium is designed to feel like you are outside at your favorite baseball game while giving you shelter from the sweltering Las Vegas heat.

The groundbreaking has taken place and recently the city approved a contingency plan that was presented in case the building is halted for any reason.

A’s Stadium Contingency Plan Details

If construction is halted, the A’s will submit a $3.7 million security bond to Clark County, which will be used to decommission the site. Measures include removing materials, ensuring structural integrity, and building an 8-foot wall around the parcel are also included. This plan is yet another step toward the completion of the new home of the A’s.

A’s Stadium Architectural Highlights

The stadium's design is inspired by an armadillo, featuring five overlapping pennant-shaped roof layers that allow natural light while blocking direct sunlight. Wait, if they are using the design of the armadillo shouldn’t this stadium be in Texas? It also features a massive cable-net glass window in the outfield to provide stunning views of the great outdoors in Las Vegas.

The stadium will have tiered seating to bring fans closer to the action, designed to have clear sightlines from every seat. Plus, an 18,000-square-foot jumbotron—the largest in MLB—for those who don’t want to have to strain their eyes.
