Humanlike Bears In Utah Meet Challenger Chinese Bear

Dave wrote about Utah animals that sound like a human. How about a bear that stands like a human?

Often animals will trick us by their call or their behavior into thinking that they are human. A sun bear in China stands up, waves and stretches so human like that people thought the Hangzhou Zoo had put an employee in a costume.

This bear has caused such a stir that it must have challenged some of the humanlike bears in Utah.

The first challenger, of course, is the Jazz Bear. I mean talk about a human kind of bear. He can do flips, jumps, dunks and was even nominated to the mascot hall of fame. He is an icon in the NBA, I mean come on if you want to see a human looking bear head to Utah.

How about Old Ephraim? He was a huge bear that got into trouble that would put the sun bear to shame. He may have not been kind to the sheep and cattle in the Cache Valley area, but he certainly was good at mimicking the actions of rustlers and ne'er do wells.

This one might not be from our state, but Smokey was found in New Mexico just south of Utah and look at all of the humanlike messaging he has done in teaching us to be careful with fire. Smokey should count for the entire western United States.
