How to Make a Beautiful Natural Planter from a Stump

This unique planter looks good in the garden and saves you the cash you would spend on a pot. It is as simple as cutting the log into the size you want. Cut into the log using a drill or a saw and then chip out the inside with a chisel like you would a pumpkin.

Fill the inside with potting soil and plant some flowers and it is as if the tree is still kind of living and adding beauty to your yard. This guy used a palm tree, but a stump from any tree will do the same. Something with rough bark might look even better.
